The Lifecycle Development team · since 2017

Extensions and renovations. By the builder with an accredited energy company inside it.

Most builders bring in an electrician, then a plumber, then a heating firm. We are those firms, under one roof, trading since 2017. Every project is designed fabric first, so the space you gain is warm in January, comfortable in July and cheap to run all year.

  • One in-house team, structure to switch-on
  • A published standard specification
  • Fixed written quotes, staged payments

Lifecycle Development Ltd, Company No. 10920425, trading since 2017. MCS, NICEIC, REFCOM and SMAS accredited, with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Every claim on this page can be checked, and the receipts section below shows where.

What we build

Two ways to change your home

Extensions and whole-house renovations, delivered by our own team from the first drawing to the last certificate: design, structure, electrics by our NICEIC-approved electricians, heating and renewables by our certified engineers.

Extensions

Kitchen extensions, side returns, wraparounds and two-storey additions, designed so the new space holds its temperature and the whole house runs cheaper, not just bigger.

Renovations & Refurbishments

Whole-house renovations and deep refurbishments that fix the fabric first: insulation, airtightness and heating designed together, then the finish you actually want.

Why Lifecycle

Proof you can check before you call.

We would rather be verified than believed. The company record, the accreditations, the specification and the process behind every project are all published, so you can check us the way you would check any builder.

  • Nine years of engineering behind every wall: electrical, mechanical and renewable projects delivered across industrial, commercial and residential sectors since 2017.
  • One in-house team for structure and energy. The electrician, the heating engineer and the builder answer to the same name on the contract.
  • A published standard specification and a staged process with payments tied to progress, so you can see exactly what you are buying before you commit.

The spec is the marketing

Anyone can promise quality workmanship. We would rather show you the actual specification every project is built to: structure, insulation, airtightness, heating, solar and EV readiness, line by line. Any detail still being confirmed with our suppliers is marked on the page until it is locked, and your written quote fixes the exact specification for your project.

The Lifecycle Spec

A process you can hold us to

Consultation, design and planning, a fixed written quote, a staged build with payments tied to progress, then handover with certificates and aftercare. Each stage is written down, including what you pay and when, so there are no surprises in either direction.

How it works

Designed fabric first

  • Insulation and airtightness designed before radiators are sized, so the building needs less heat in the first place
  • Heat pump ready by design: emitters, pipework and cylinder space planned at drawing stage
  • Solar-ready roofs: orientation, structure and cable routes considered before the first tile goes on
  • EV charging wired in while the walls are open, not chased in afterwards

The energy work is delivered by our own MCS registered and NICEIC-approved team. See Heat & Cool for that side of the company.

Planning, on the record

Where your extension needs a planning application, the statutory target for deciding most householder applications is 8 weeks. Source: gov.uk, determining a planning application. Many extensions fall within permitted development instead; our planning guide has the limits.

Party walls, by the book

Notifiable work next to a neighbour requires written notice between 2 months and a year before starting, under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. Source: gov.uk, party walls and building work. We prepare the paperwork at design stage.

Certified, not just finished

Building control inspects during the build and issues a completion certificate, usually within 8 weeks of compliant completion. Source: gov.uk, building regulations approval. Electrical work is certified by our own NICEIC-approved electricians.

The published standard

Every project is built to The Lifecycle Spec, our standard specification, published line by line so quotes can be compared honestly. Your written quote fixes the exact specification for your project.

Questions worth asking us

Construction is the newest division of a company that has been engineering buildings since 2017. Lifecycle Development Ltd delivers electrical, mechanical and renewable energy projects across industrial, commercial and residential sectors, and the same in-house team, accreditations and standards now deliver extensions and renovations end to end. Every project is built to our published specification with a transparent staged process.
Extensions, and renovations and refurbishments, designed fabric first so the finished building is inexpensive to run. Because the energy team is in-house, heat pumps, solar and EV charging are designed in from the first drawing rather than bolted on afterwards.
Everything that matters. The company record on Companies House (No. 10920425, registered 2017). The accreditations with their issuing bodies: MCS, NICEIC, REFCOM, SMAS, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. The Lifecycle Spec, published line by line. The staged process, including how payments work. And a fixed written quote before you commit a penny to the build.
