This is the standard specification behind every Lifecycle project: structure, fabric, airtightness, heating, solar and EV readiness, line by line. Your written quote fixes the exact specification for your project, so you can hold us to it in the contract.
Line by line
This is the baseline every project starts from. Your written quote fixes the exact specification for your build against it, line by line, so you can compare it with any other quote and hold us to it.
Structure and warranty
Structural approach. Traditional masonry or timber frame to suit the project, engineered per design and approved by building control.
Structural warranty. Warranty and defects arrangements are agreed per project and written into your contract before work starts.
Foundations. Designed to ground conditions following site investigation and approved by building control.
Fabric and insulation
External walls. Designed fabric first: the build-up and target U-value are stated in your written specification and meet or better current Building Regulations.
Roof. Insulated build-up designed per project, with the target U-value stated in your written specification.
Floors. Insulated build-up designed per project, with the target U-value stated in your written specification.
Windows and external doors. Glazing, frame material and energy ratings specified per project in your written specification.
Airtightness and ventilation
Airtightness. Junctions and penetrations detailed for airtightness at design stage, not patched on site.
Ventilation. Designed for the project type to current Building Regulations, so fresh air is planned rather than accidental.
Heating and hot water
Heating approach. Designed for low flow temperatures so an air source heat pump performs properly, whether fitted now or later. Emitters and pipework sized at design stage by our own heating engineers.
Hot water. Cylinder specification and space allowance sized at design stage and stated in your written specification.
Controls. Heating controls specified per project and itemised in your written specification.
Solar and EV readiness
Solar readiness. Roof orientation, structure and cable routes considered at design stage so panels can be fitted without compromise, now or later.
EV charging. Wiring provision for a home EV charge point included while walls are open; a fitted charger can be added to your quote.
Battery provision. Cable routes and space allowances planned at design stage so battery storage can be added later without redecorating.
Electrical
Electrical installation. Designed and installed by our own NICEIC-approved electricians and certified at completion, with sockets, lighting and consumer unit itemised in your written specification.
Handover
Certification. Building control completion certificate, electrical certification and manufacturer registrations provided at handover as standard.
Handover pack. Drawings, certificates and manufacturer registrations collected into one handover pack.
Aftercare. Defects liability period and snag process stated in your contract before work starts.
Every certificate referenced above is provided at handover, and the specification for your project is fixed in your written quote.
